Happy Card/Kiss Technique

This is a card I made for a friend who just received a good report from his doctor (after much worrying - silly man had himself dead and buried!). I made several cards with this stamp and technique. I had never done the 'kiss' technique but I think I like it. That stamp is BIG BLOSSOM from SU, stamped first with Tempting Turquoise, then 'kissed' with PRETTY PAISLEY in Night of Navy. I have no idea where the little laugh stamp came from. I am looking for similar stamps with just a word or two; much as I like the laugh, I think other words would be appropriate, too. Smile, be happy, hurray, good for you ...

RAKs mailed

The top RAK has a surprise in the envelope! Can't say where the middle one is going (hehehe). The bottom card is a graduation card for a friend's son. It's hard to believe he has graduated from high school and is headed to university in the fall! My kids used to baby sit him!

Weekly Challenge

This week's challenge on ink-stains was to make a card with black, white, and one other color, plus a ribbon and an embellishment. This is a far cry from the zebra card I was thinking of making (with a touch of green) but, lo and behold, I have NO BLACK CARD STOCK!!!

DCM Dare

This week's dare on DCM is:
"Everything we buy has packaging, some of it excessive, some of it beautifully designed. Tags, labels, stickers... all sorts of bits and bobs that we can recycle onto cards.I dare you to make a card using a tag, label, sticker or anything else you can find, thats from packaging and would normally end up in the bin. Of course you can ink it, change it, distress it and add anything else you like!If you're feeling brave, I DOUBLE DARE you to make it a card for a man!"

So here it is. I have no idea where the tobacco label came from - nobody in this house smokes!

Mike's Purchases

Whoop-de-do. I drove an hour and a half, each way, for this. The cutting mat and rotary cutter (40% off) should improve my fabric cutting skills and the stamp was in the 1.50 bin. Of course, DH got all happy at Lee Valley and we made a Costco stop. Other than that it was gas, breakfast and lunch. How exciting are we?

Birthday Card

OK, here's a card. Tomorrow is Dad's birthday and I thought this would suit him - his den is sort of wolf themed (not in an OMG gag me with a spoon way). SU paper is Close to Cocoa, Ink on SU Weathered background stamp in Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip, Onyx Xpressions wolf stamped in Versa Fine Sepia.

Ok, So it's not a card ...

I probably shouldn't even be on the computer right now with all the rumbling and light in the sky. Look at these pictures! The first one is Dad's windmill taken from an upstairs west facing window, the second is facing south and the third is our lower driveway looking like a river. I hope DH isn't walking out of work in this!

Weekly Challenge

This week's challenge on ink-stains was to make a card with polka dots. Polka dots are FUN! The elephant is an unmounted from Onyx Xpressions and the quote is a stamp I bought on ebay last year and hadn't used before this.

As Requested

This is a work in progress. The first quilt I ever made was really kind of boring - making the same squares over and over again. That's why I decided to make a sampler quilt but I need to get my ass in gear and make more blocks so it will fit the Q bed. Pics of the individual blocks are available if anybody *coughKariecough* thinks they need to see them.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses ...

Oh, and my own creativity is stalled for a few reasons. DD and grandbrats are visiting this week. I am working on a quilt I started a few years ago. Would you like to see pics? That can be arranged. And the final reason (and you'll laugh at me, I'm sure) is I need a chair for the craft room. The old one is not adjustable and is the wrong height. I used a step stool for a seat to make a birthday card last week and my back was so sore I almost couldn't get up! LOL! I also need to get a chair mat so I don't mark up the pretty new floor.

RAKs

Here are two sweet RAKs from two sweet people! Gotta love the ink-stains ladies! Sandie sent the beautiful butterfly - it's really black paper and the contrast is gorgeous. The cutie-pie House Mouse card is from Cindy. Those are punched out circles on the card. You have no idea how much they brightened my day - the weather has been very grey lately. I'm not REALLY complaining because we need the rain but it's not easy to get going on days like this.

Wheeee!!!

Everything that's supposed to be in the craft/bedroom is there. The ironing board (oops, the iron is still in the kitchen cupboard) is hidden in the closet. I'm sure I'll have to rearrange little stuff but at least I can get down there and make a card again. Hurray! And if I get tired I can have a nap in the beautiful new bed! *doing the happy dance*
The last picture shows the poor old computer desk which is now my craft table. All I need is a chair and I'm hesitant to put the old one in there - wouldn't want to mark the floor now, would I? And I know the table is way too neat ... give me chance to get creating and I'll take another pic. I hope I can remember how to stamp!
There will be closet doors eventually ...
