UMs

Not, um, er, ah . . . but I finally reorganized my unmounted stamps (UMs). I had been storinng them in CD cases but they were 'out of sight, out of mind'. It's pretty hard to ignore the binder now! I bought these, and a D-ring binder, some page protectors and tabs and here is the finished effort. It took about a week all together, simply because I didn't do it all at once.
While I was at it I counted them and I have 290, give or take. Some of those are single word stamps.
I have lots more sheets so . . . but I'll probably need another binder if I use them all.

Two Cards

Just a couple of cards here. One is a birthday card for my brother. Thank you Hambo! The other is going in the mail to a friend - a "just a note" card.

My turn to post the challenge on inkstainers this week and I thought soot stamping would be fun. I have tried it in the past and wasn't pleased with the results but I can live with these. The tutorials on you tube are good, though I had better luck with a taper than a tealight. Maybe my tealight was too low?

This is the Happiness Is a Journey set from SU, CS is SU and PP is from my stash.

Awesome Day!

Sharon and I drove east, Marilyn drove west, and we met in the middle! LOL! We met at a delightful cafe for lunch, then went to the local scrapbook store, a fairly recent addition to the area. They warned me that I would be overawed and spend lots of money. I didn't go crazy spending but was certainly in awe of her stock! It's a bright, clean and cheery spot with just about everything you could imagine that's near and dear to a paper crafter's heart ( even a blackhearted person like me!). My modus operandi , when I check out a new store, is to look at everything then go back and buy what calls the loudest to me. The first thing I spotted was the Tim Holtz ruler at the unbelievable price of 7.99! I have looked for it online and have never seen it at such a low price ANYWHERE! Well, there was one on ebay one time for four bucks but the shipping was listed as 30.00 or something ridiculous like that. Then I checked out the CB embossing borders and chose two (five in each!) and some paper piercing templates. Had a good look through the CS and PP on sale and was good to go. Can't wait to go back!

Marilyn and Sharon both gifted me (and each other) with the cutest things. Sharon made a double pocket purse and filled it with goodies and Marilyn made a sweet box with four magnets in it. Are they the greatest or what?

LAST week's challenge

LOL! So much for my resolution to keep the blog up to date. Anyhoo, last week was Lori's turn to post a challenge and it was simple: make a card. Any theme, any technique, any color. So I had a goofy moment and came up with this. I purchsed her here.

New Year - New Challenge

Our very own "Howdy from Texas" gal issued the challenge to stamp on fabric. I haven't been doing much sewing lately so was hard put to find suitable fabric. I tried burlap - too coarse. The eyelet fabric was to hole-y. Then a light bulb appeared over my head. Fabric with maple leaves AND my cheapo stamp from Mike's - never used! The first photo is a close up to better show the maple leaf stamped on the fabric. What do you think, EH?
